2019 - The flâneurs' program
I believe that we all have within us different needs that have to be nurtured or awaken by combining different approaches. This is why over the years I have delve into the practice of Yoga, Art and Ayurveda in order to feel more whole and connected with my deeper Self. Everyone has the inherent wish to feel good and more balanced, to feel energized physically and mentally. Too much isolation is not good for the mind and yet if you do not allow yourself some quality time you may start experiencing stress, lacking space to reconnect within your centre. The following walks and art sessions on offer below are for you to explore your possibilities, to connect with Nature, to learn to see beyond the obvious and to access your creative energy. It is aimed at people who perhaps would not go and do these walks by themselves, or engage in an artistic activity alone as they may need the support of a group, or the guidance from someone they feel a connection with. I love working with people, and help them becoming inspired by what they can do or achieve. During these walks or creative sessions, I often give more than what is stated, as I always work intuitively by adjusting to the moment, and the dynamic of the group. So when appropriate we may meditate or do yogic breathing (pranayama), we may practice visualization, or explore our hidden thoughts and talents. It is also about taking time to BE, to BREATHE, to SEE. Whether the practice is in the city or in the wildness of Nature it is about letting go of our conditioned mind, observing in a leisurely way the passing of time, becoming a flâneur.
SOUTHBANK: RFH, NFT, QEH and more
Saturday 26th January - 1.30 - 5pm
THEME: 'INTRODUCTION TO SKETCHING'
Due to weather forecast the location has been changed in order to be in sheltered places, such as the Royal Festival Hall, as well as being able to benefit from interesting views of the Thames and bridges. This afternoon session is an introduction to sketching. You don't need to be an experienced artist to try it out. It is fun and you will see how much you can train your eyes to look at buildings, or people. I will guide you through techniques and exercises. We will meet at Embankment station at 1.20pm and walk over the bridge to Southbank. Please reserve your space the day before.
COST: £35 (includes a small A5 sketchbook). £30 if 3 or more people book. You will need to provide your own pen/pencil or other medium of your choice.
MARGATE to BROADSTAIRS - Kent
Saturday 16th March - 10am - 6pm
THEME: 'THE LANGUAGE OF COLOURS'
This beautiful coastal walk takes place between two famous towns of Kent. Starting from Margate we will first visit the Turner Contemporary Gallery before lunch, then head along the path towards Broadstairs. This area is known for its pretty sandy beaches and bays. On the way we will pass Bleak House which is the former house of Charles Dickens. The walk is easy and mostly flat all along. There will be short breaks during the walk to rest, sketch (if you wish), write or just meditate in front of the sea.
Meeting will be at London St Pancras Station at 9.30am. The session is from 11am - 5.30pm once on location.
COST: £30 (Early Bird £25 before 10th March). This does not include the train fare, which will be at a discounted price as we are booking as a group.
